Suddenly it's a new year!
2011 snuck right up on me. It wasn't a big change for me, I turned 31 two days before, and 2011 just seemed very anticlimactic for some reason. I had no problem adjusting to writing it on checks even. I guess I'm just accepting the fact that time keeps going, and I keep getting older. We celebrated with just our little family at home in our pajamas and it was glorious. We had gone non-stop the week of Christmas and were exhausted.
So now we're back in school, finally over a string of illnesses that struck our house.
(knock on wood!)
I am loving having all four kids in school. I get FOUR whole blessed hours to myself a week.
It's been a long time coming! And even though four hours doesn't seem like very much, just ask any mom and she'll tell you how precious those hour are.
So I have been busy trying to get things going, we moved back to Utah at the start of the holidays and everything was put on hold. Now I am trying to get my Scentsy business started again--my first big party is a fundraiser for a neighbor next week. I am also putting on a baby shower for a sister-in-law this weekend. We've been working hard to make it an adorable 'candy shoppe' theme. Should be cute!
Did I tell you I got the best birthday present ever from Don? He surprised me with round trip tickets to visit my pals in Kansas City! I was SOOOO excited!!! That trip is actually next weekend. I don't even care that it's the end of January and will be cold, I am just so darn excited to see my best friends again.
I miss them terribly.
We've got science fair at the beginning of next week for Ally and we've been doing some cool dry ice experiments. Don was so excited to have dry ice in the house so he could show his kids 'cool' stuff you can do with it. Brayden is in basketball and Reese has picked up her social life. She has more friends then any kid I know! I don't know how she gets them, she acts so shy around them when we're around....maybe she's leading a double life?
Since this is my first post of the new year, I am not going to post my resolutions, mostly because I don't have any! There's no word or theme of the year for us. I'm trying to keep it simple and not get overwhelmed with all the changes that have happened. I do have lots of goals in mind for myself and my family, but I don't feel the need to advertise them.
I think the overall tone of the year will be one of simplifying for us...
I am simply enjoying our lives back in Utah!
