It's no secret 'round here, my five year old has a small (and by small, I mean large) eating issue. I know it's normal for kids to go through phases, but I don't see an end to this phase anytime soon. And it doesn't help that she is one stubborn lady, getting her to eat anything other than her 3 "approved" foods is a nightmare. It has caused much stress in our household.Soooooo, I am implementing a plan of attack!! A good friend of mine, Ms. K.V.O., who has years of experience with personal training, sat down with me and helped me figure out an eating plan that will benefit our entire family. And wouldn't you know? This eating plan isn't anything new! It's basically following the Word of Wisdom (click on it if you don't know what that is) and the food guide pyramid.
Tonight for Family Night, we are going to kick off our new program with a lesson on W.O.W. and I am creating a food pyramid for each of us complete with stick-on fruits and veggies so we can visually see if we've eaten the correct amount for the day. No more cookies, crackers and fruit snacks in our pantry either, well, for now at least. We've really got to go all or nothing with this child.
It will take all of us working together as a family, but I am hoping (and praying!) that we can help little Reesey-Roo learn to enjoy healthy food! And the rest of us too! haha.
Goooooo WOW!

That's funny Jenni! It's so hard when your kids have their own idea of what they want. Good luck with everything. Sounds like you got a good plan! Keep us posted. Hey Jenni, did I ever assign you a letter yet for your blog? 10 things I love that start with the letter __?
I can't remember if I sent you one or not.
Good luck!! Our Ammon is one of our toughest food critics in our family. I sometime have to sit with him and feed him to make sure he doesn't go to be hungry.
Good idea!
I have a 7 year old who only eats meat, grain, and dairy.
So did you just draw fruit and cut them out and make all your little charts homemade or did you buy it somewhere? :) I need some sort of system because I am the horrible eater and my kids are just following.. heehee
Ooh! Good luck! I probably need to follow that w/ Katie. :(
Tell Reese that Amy said Ensures have to go bye bye!! :) (or whatever it is she drinks)
We need to start the WOW diet in our house too. I feel like crying just thinking about it. Tears of pain and joy. Good luck!
all of my kids have such different eating habits. Colton has grown picker with age Kylie has always been kind of picky. Klayton will eat anyting edible along with things that arent. Kelsie is a good eater too. Good Luck
