First Post of The New Year--now with pictures!

On Tuesday I got to celebrate my birthday at the yummiest restuarant with friends. We ate at Spin Pizzaria and I had my very first taste of Gelato---boy have I been missing out! Thanks ladies, for a really fun night! Still haven't gone on the hot date with the hot hubby, tomorrow perhaps?

Last night we left the kids with two cute babysitters and celebrated the coming of the New Year at a party with an intimate gathering of......30!? It was a little nostalgic for Don--last year on New Years Eve he arrived in Kansas and attended the very same party that night--he has officially been here one year! (The kids and I arrived in late January.) The party was a blast, we ate food, we played games, we hung out. Don and I made it home around 11:30 so we could ring in the New Year with our kids who were waiting up to see the ball drop in Times Square. In my opinion, they showed way too much of the hosts and way too little of the actual ball dropping--major let down. Why spend 5 million on the thing if you're not even going to show it?!
PARTY PICS (from Amy's blog):
A few of the ladies hanging out upstairs....

Valerie, she owned the singing competition!

Anxiously looking on

Here's what the guys were up to downstairs...

And to think, the strongest drink being served was Mt. Dew!

Happy New Years! We had already left when this photo was taken.

Today I am looking forward to a little errand running, without kids that is. And later as a family we are going to be making our individual resolutions, and setting our family goals for the year. I saw this cool idea on Pam's blog, their family writes their goals in a book so that they can look back and see what goals they accomplished for the year, and also look back at years past. I think I just might try that this year!!

As the saying goes: out with the old and in with the new. My greatest wish for the new year is to break out of my old bad habits and overcome my severe organizational challenges. I admit it, I ride the organizational short bus.

Hey 2009--watch out. We've got some big plans for you....

It looks like Don was really getting into those Wii games. I cannot believe we hit 30 this year. I am having issues with that, but what can ya do? I ran into Shannon today at Costco, her baby is so cute. I hope you and your family have a wonderful 2009!

That looked like so much fun. I need to get my friends together next year and do something like that. We just went to dinner and watched a movie at home. Glad you guys got out and had a good time.
