...the kids and I entered the bakery section and the kids, of course, bee-lined to the freshly baked donuts. "I want one! I want one!" went the chorus. I heaved a heavy sigh and slowly made my way over. Upon looking into the protective glass something strange was noticed: BUGS. CRAWLING ALL OVER. I found the girl behind the counter and informed her that bugs were covering their baked goods, and she smiled sweetly and said: "I know. But it's better than it was a week ago. You can still purchase them!"
I can? "Oh, no thank you" came the reply. (heave)

We saw roaches on the birthday cakes behind the glass case at our grocery store too!! They also didn't seem too concerned.
That is just sick. I can't believe they would even consider selling them after that.
Oh that is soooo gross!!! I am so glad I haven't run into that but, if I do, i'm not sure I will be able to trust stores again.
Oh my gosh, I can't believe that! I have never seen anything like that before, thank heavens. I'm sure I would have been just freaking out about it. I will start paying more attention definitely when I hit the bakery.
