We're trying to get Owen to take one of these.
The boy absolutely refuses, he won't have anything to do with it. He'll eat his food from the spoon just fine, but as soon as we attempt to sneak in the bottle, he gets so mad! He screams and cries and hits it away. We switched formulas thinking he didn't like the taste, we tried different bottle types, and even sippy cups... nothing works!
He likes his mama, that's for sure, but his mama needs a break!
Any helpful hints or suggestions on weaning an eight month old baby would be welcomed and appreciated....

Argh, I thought my Noah would never wean himself. He wouldn't take a binky or anything but me and it was so frustrating. finally around 11 months I ended up getting sick and he couldn't really nurse for 2 days and he switched to a sippy cup, and finally slept through the night too! I don't have any good advice because the only thing at worked for me was getting sick ;)
I am weaning Jaida too. At first she didn't want to take the bottle. I left the room and Pat was persistent and she finally took it. She takes it from me now too. She had taken it off and on since she was born. With Paige, she had never taken a bottle but she bit me and I never nursed her again. She went hungry for about 12 hours and then decided a bottle might be a good idea. I don't know if any of this helps, but good luck..
Thanks for the advice! I'll try just about anything at this point, he bites occasionally, and scratches me too! Ouch.
I'm ready to throw in the towel....
