Back to Basics

I have no idea what's happening on American Idol.
I haven't watched the news in weeks.
I can't remember the last time I heard "ni ni ni ni nick jr"
Wanna know why?
We have no TV. Yet.

Don't worry, our cable package has been researched and ordered,

and soon we'll be the proud owners of 200 of the best channels (in HD, mind you) in a matter of weeks. Thanks to the dear husband who was hoping to have it installed by SuperBowl Sunday.

In the meantime, I am enjoying the quiet.

Being in a new state, our calendar went from being crammed full with afterschool activies, with no time for....togetherness. I am loving being with my kids with no interruptions. Teaching them to play together and rely upon each other. We have scheduled dinner and homework times with no interruption. We read more. We're getting to know each other again.

Like all good things,

this too, will come to an end.
I am foreseeing playgroups, playdates, book club, scrapbook group,
jewelry making classes, girls nights out, ice skating lessons, dance class, girl scouts, soccer....*breathe*.

But for now, at least, we are back to basics.
And basically, it's been the best.
