Ode To Fall

Well, it would seem winter is upon us. I guess it is only fitting that I pay tribute to the fantastic fall we had here in Kansas. I was a little worried that I would miss out on it all being away from the mountains, but I'll tell you what--the midwest did not disappoint! It was beautiful. Colors I have never seen on leaves popped the brightest oranges and reds. Tree lined streets everywhere we go created a golden canopy overhead. I just wish I had my camera with me every where I went! Here are the kids on a glorious Sunday afternoon at Heritage Park:

We had a blast celebrating fall. We visited a real cider mill, attended a "Fright Night On The Farm" where we took a haunted hay ride and braved the haunted barn. We visited multiple pumpkin patches and our favorite was Suburban Lawn and Garden, a local nursery. They had free popcorn, hay rides, firetruck rides and face painting. We even got to drive around in our own golf cart:


Then THE night itself. Class parties, costume parades and playgroup crafting were on the agenda. We had perfect trick-or-treating weather and excitedly met up with a group of friends in one of their neighborhoods for the candy-palooza. Afterwards we met up at Applebee's for some ice cream sundaes--because we just didn't get enough sugar :)
