Work Week!

Well I completed my first week of hospital orientation. I learned so much! It's amazing to me how hospitals work, it takes a significant team effort on everyone's part to keep that place running. Even us lowly CNA's play an important role. Since we are very involved in direct patient care and we are with them the majority of the time, we are considered the eyes and ears of the facility. It's a big responsibility, and one that I am excited to take on. I still haven't decided whether or not I want to be an RN, and working in a hospital will give me great opportunities to observe other specialties. I start working nights this week! I am very nervous about the strain of twelve hour shifts on my feet and back. I think I'll have to invest in a pair of these eventually: Dansko Nursing Clogs
Everyone I know who work on their feet swear by them. Only a mere $125 for these bad boys!
Okay, maybe I won't be getting a pair...

On an un-related note, I had to post this picture! I came across it recently and it made me smile for multiple reasons:
Those cute little hands are Owen and his cousin Jace. We took them somewhere together and they held hands the entire drive. In the back seat is Reese and I captured her cute little smile, and next to her is her stuffed animal all buckled in.
(Not the best quality of picture, but I still love it)

Moments like these with the kids make it all worthwhile...
