Pinewood Derby 2010

The goal was simple this year:
Make it down the track with all four wheels in place!
(At least that was mine and Don's goal)

Pinewood Derby 2010 would not turn out like 2009.
Last year, we had no idea what we were doing. None. Before the race I noticed the wheels were a little wobbly, so I tried to "fix" them. And in doing so--broke one off. A little super glue and a lot of praying and our car made it down the track. To last place.

This year.....

We worked hard, for days on our car.
Cutting, sanding, painting, adding weights and graphite.

It's a process I tell ya!

He had something else in mind: Winning!
His little competitive spirit really showed itself last Wednesday.

Here's the lineup: ours is the BYU car fourth from the right.

My boys watching carefully, sizing up the competition. At last, it's Brayden's turn!
The cars go racing down the track, then they switch sides and do it again.
Each boy had a total of three races down the track, until the winners were left standing, then they raced until an overall winner was determined.

Well, we didn't win. But we didn't take last place!
I think we were somewhere comfortably in the middle.

Brayden was awarded "BEST THEME CAR"
for his BYU roadster.

I'm so proud of my cub scout!
He was a great sport and we had such a fun night cheering him on!

Oh, and one last thing:
