Many Firsts

This school year we celebrated a couple of firsts! First of all, we moved into a new-to-us house, which we LOVE by the way. (More pictures on that later!) We moved in exactly 48 hours before the first day of school and boy were we tired.

Monday morning, the kids started at a new school! We've heard such good things about this school, how friendly everyone is, and how awesome the staff is--it hasn't disappointed so far!

Remember how my camera has gone to a milky grave? Well, my substitute for now is my camera phone. So enjoy the somewhat blurry photos of my kids!

The morning of.....dressed in their favorite outfits

This little pumpkin started Kindergarten! Another first for us! My baby, my sweet little girl was so excited to get dressed up and off to school. I now have three out of four kids in school--it's been a long time coming. I do miss this one though! She has always been my shadow, my mirror image following me around.....sigh.....they do grow up fast.
The Chief. The man. My Brayden is now in third grade and was a little nervous to start at another new school. He did amazing though---he always does. Made friends the first day and loves his teacher. Did I mention he's smart too? Loves science.

Can you believe I have a fifth grader!? Allyson was so nervous this year. Excited, but nervous mostly because of the amount of homework involved as you get older. What if it's too hard? She kept asking. Let me tell you, after two weeks in school, this girl isn't being challenged enough!

I got a call from her teacher making sure she's ok because girls are fighting over who gets to be her BFF. Two girls are in a little tizzy because they want her all to themselves. Ally talked to the counselor and said "I just want to be friends with everyone"-- I was so proud of her. We had a Family Home Evening on choosing good friends tonight, I am confident she'll surround herself with good people. She is amazing. Fifth grade. Wow!

The rain let up long enough for us to walk to school as a family.
Dad, Owen and Brayden led the way....

Ally and Reese were busy talking and had to keep catching up!
Once inside we dropped off the older two and headed down to the Kindergarten room, where parents were invited to stay until their child felt comfortable enough for them to leave.

Lucky little Reese has TWO of her BFF's from Church in her class!!
Here she is with Oliva and Sara
She found her spot at a table and began a little project which I helped her with. After it was done, she told me I could go....I asked if she was sure.....she said she was......but I wasn't.....I had to do the only thing left to do.....I gave her a huge hug and kiss.......and I walked out the door.

She couldn't have been happier to be in school.
I'm so proud of her and of all my kids! Now Owen and I have a few quality hours in the mornings for learning and singing time. Not to mention toys and blogging time!
