This and That

So we did a fun thing this morning for our weekly playgroup. I got pictures on my camera phone, but am too lazy to put them up here. Instead, allow me to paint a picture with words....

Opening scene: 25 kids in a pizza place at 9:30 in the morning. Now, visualize each of these kids sitting at one big long table with their very own personal pizza dough and all the ingredients they need to make their very own pie. Sauce, cheese and pepperonis are artfully arranged. Fingers are licked. Can you just picture it? Ahem, well anyway. We went to Uno's Chicago Pizzeria and after the kids created their pizza's, each one got to carry them back to the ovens and then take a little tour of the kitchen. They stood in the fridge for heavens sake! How I'd love a walk in fridge.....

BUT before all of this took place, wayyyy before, like 6:30 am, momma was out running with her newly formed walking/jogging/running group that was recently formed. Did I mention we just formed it? We run/walk/jog/whatever in groups because we have been exploring the trail system here. It's like running in the forest it's so dense with foliage. And it's shaded, and we get to see bunnies and deer and squirrels, and golf courses. But it's been so nice to wake up early and laugh and talk with friends while exercising. It makes the hills easier to bear. I used to love to run up hills---then I gave birth to four babies. Boy life sure changed after that! I tell ya....

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that it's been a good first week of non-school going. We have a good routine of getting up and getting stuff done and then we play. Next week I will be attending cub scout day camp with Brayden. He goes everyday all day, but I'll go up two times. It's not truly camping, more like playing in a big field. We're a good few hours away from real camping. From mountains---how I miss them!

In two weeks I'm going to bottle peaches and do my freezer jam. I can already taste all the cobblers and homemade rolls and jam we're going to consume this year. Which is the very reason why we started the morning walking/jogging/running group! See? I knew I could tie all this together somehow!
