The day school got out, the kids and I hopped in the car and drove to Blue Springs, MO, where we met up with our good friends, The Nelsons, who moved to Texas last fall. We've missed them lots, and it was fun to visit them while at their grandma's house.

The next day, Grandma Chris came to town! We picked her up from the airport and whisked her off to Bonner Springs, KS. A very, very small town. There we stopped at the first place we saw that would have something for the four pickiest kids on the planet. Waffles.
Next we visited Moon Marble Factory, where they make marbles and sell marbles. There was also tons of vintage toys and the kids each got to fill their own tube up with marbles---every color you can imagine was there!
We didn't get to see them do this, so it looks like we'll be making another trip out there!

The next day we drove to downtown KC and went to Science City at Union Station. It was so cool, something for all the kids to do. We spent a good few hours there and still didn't see it all. We wanted to make it to the planetarium to catch "Peter and the Wolf" in time. I forgot how much I loved the music in that!
Here's Brayden at the tree house, matching fur pelts to their owners.

Ally and Brayden testing their own strength.

Owen's making music on this giant keyboard. Think "Big" with Tom Hanks.

Reese and her special Grandma playing checkers.

My four crazies in the helicopter.
And where do you take starving children when you're in downtown Kansas City? Why, to Fritz's!! You definitely are paying for the atmosphere here. Greasy burgers and fries is on the menu.

But....your food gets deliverd by a train! It runs on a track above your head then drops it down on a pulley to your table. Super cool!

And just when you think this day couldn't get any funner, Grandma took us all to the store and bought the kids a big surprise...
Bikes!!!

So the next day we had to test them out! Off to Heritage Park we went for a picnic and a bike ride!
Look what Reese thinks she's eating for lunch--5 cookies!

Owen played.

Ally attempted to feed the geese, but they weren't hungry.

The weekend ended on Sunday with poor Grandma missing her flight by three minutes! She got stuck at the airport on standby all day! We finally got word she made it to Denver, then to Utah much later that night!!
We had a blast that weekend with our Grandma Chris! We miss you lots!

Looks like so much fun! I love it when Grandma comes to town, and bikes, WOW!
What a cool restaurant where your food is delivered by train and dropped down to your table. My boys would love that! Looks like a terrific stay-cation with Grandma. And how cool is it to get new bikes just in time for the warm weather!
p.s. I guess I don't like my privacy anymore- comes with being a mom I guess. Anyways, our blog is public again:)
