Have I mentioned on this blog that I love autumn? Well, I do. And it just so happens that here in Kansas there's some really great autumn festivities to attend. Friday was our spooky movie night, we watched Labrynth, and Mr. David Bowie scared the pants off of our poor little friend. Sorry!
Saturday we decided to go to Suburban Lawn and Garden, where we heard it's a fun hangout for kids. We got free popcorn, hayrides, firetruck rides, face painting, and lots of adorable photo ops at the pumpkin patch. The place is so huge, they let you take golf carts to ride around in while shopping, so I decided to purchase a huge beautiful mum (for three bucks!) for my front porch, and we took turns taking the kids for a ride on the golf cart.
Later that evening, we dared to head over to the Frightnight At The Farm where we did a flashlight scavenger hunt in the forest, haunted hayrides in the dark, marshmallow roasting, bouncy slides and trick or treating. Apparently we didn't get the memo or our brains just stopped working for a second, and our kids were the ONLY kids not dressed up in their costumes! Oh well, they still had a blast.
Now it's Monday and the usual pile of dishes and laundry is here waiting for me to begin. And I just pulled Owen out of the bathroom where he was splashing in the toilet AGAIN.

What a fun weekend! I love the fall. It just makes me happy!
Sounds like fun. Especially the playing in the toilet part.
That sounds like the best weekend!
Wish I was there with my little goblins having fun!

let's just say, someone is in trouble with their husband about a certain little boy and his scaredy pants. glad to hear you guys loved suburban and the farm...i want to try to go this weekend.
You are having way too much fun out there in Kansas. I love the fall too, you cannot beat pumpkin patches, colorful leaves, halloween, etc.
Hey, I stole your Idea about spooky movie night and we watched The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Not the new one, it was the old cartoon version. It wasn't that spooky except for the last 2 min, but the kids loved it anyways. No nightmares tonight at least in our girly household. I think it will become a tradition at our house to watch spooky movies before Halloween. Sounds like you guys have all the fun out there! I can't wait to see Halloween costume pics!
