They did the usual weighing, measuring, inquiring about development and all checked out perfectly. Owen weighs 16 lbs 10 oz and is 29 inches long. Basically he's in the 3% for babies his age in weight, and 75% in height-translation he's long and skinny. He was all caught up on immunizations, so no shots today, but they wanted to draw some blood for some routine tests.
I was prepping Reese on what would happen to her baby brother, and told her he'll probably cry, and she seemed a little concerned. The tech came in and when the actual poke occurred, Owen didn't make a sound. No crying at all, in fact he seemed to enjoy having this large gentlement squeezing his finger!
All was going well, and my focus was on Owen and trying to keep him still, and I happened to look over at Reese who was watching closely. Suddenly all color drained from her face and she started slumping over. So I told her to sit in the chair and put her head down, which she did. The color continued to drain from her leaving her a pasty white and she started holding her tummy like she was going to lose it. So I asked for a basin for her to hold, which thankfully, she didn't end up needing.
After it was all said and done, it took her a good 15 minutes to recover before we could walk out to the car! The tech wasn't worried and was joking, but it caught me off guard and I was sure concerned! I was surprised that she would react like that to a simple poke! My poor little girl is squeamish!! She's fine now, but she sure had me worried for a minute...
I guess we know which career she won't be choosing:

So funny....not at the moment though.
How crazy that Owen didn't scream and Reese had such trauma. The poor little girl! I guess she wont be a nurse in her future. I would have been worried too watching the color drain from my child. Hopefully she will forget about it, but probably not. I guess she probably wont be going to the doctor with you anymore. I'm glad that it wasn't anything worse.

I guess she really loves her baby brother! I am glad you noticed her before she fell on her face and got hurt. She is a sweetheart and I miss her a lot. I miss all of you and am very anxious to see you all. The pictures are great. Keep them coming. Love, MomMac
Oh poor Reese! You should've dropped her off! (next time you take Owen in, I'll watch her!). Madison is just like that... squeamish around blood. In fact, she throws up. Ick... Hopefully tomorrow we'll walk? Rain rain go away!!
Oh, what a sad but cute little story! Now you know, as they say. And Owen, what a little trooper!
Poor Reese!! To see her cute baby brother have to get his blood drawn. What a sweetheart. My kids almost enjoy watching those kinds of things, its kind of morbid! Oh well, we all have are weird things about us, huh. Well I hope you guys are good and everything else is going great for you!
