I survived Black Friday!
My mom, two aunts, a cousin and I converged upon the stores, along with about a zillion other glassy eyed bargain hunters. Half of us made it to Wal-Mart for the 5 am opening, the other half stood in line at Target for the 6 am opening. Other than a small verbal altercation in the Target line, the day was without incident. We filled my aunts suburban with an assortment of goodies for all ages and genders- from Spongebob Legos, to Guitar Hero III. We ended our shopping day at 3 pm (but only because Owen wouldn't drink his bottle for daddy and required the homemade goodness that only mommy can make). This is a tradition
years in the making for my family. After a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner, the women gather 'round the table with our lists and our ads and map out the most efficient route to the hot sales. Why do we participate in this annual ritual you ask? Is the money saved worth all the trouble? Well, overall we do save money with the bargains, but even more, it's a day filled with laughter, reminiscing and togetherness. However, I am exhausted. I'll need the entire year to recover from the madness, oh and I also need to start saving up for next year....

As her husband, I can indeed vouch for her that she awoke, shopped to her little hearts content, and triumphed over Black Friday...I have the battle wounds of all day with the kids to prove it! Love you babe!
You are one of the crazy ones! We do our best to avoid the crowds let alone at 5am!!! I'm sure you had a blast!!
Well I really enjoyed the time spent shopping our hearts out. I also think the best thing about it, is we get to spend some time together and have lots of fun.
